Daily Tours Questions and Answers

Q:

How do I get to Nara from Kyoto (or Osaka)?

A:

You can take JR Nara line's "Miyakoji" Kaisoku express from Kyoto and it takes about 40 minutes.

If you are in Osaka, it will take about 50 minutes by either JR Kansai line or Kintetsu Nara line. If you are not sure how to get to our meeting point, let us know. We'll be very happy to help you!

Q:

When and where can I meet my guide for your daily walks?

A:

Our regular tours (Nara Park Classic Tour/ The Great Buddha Tour) depart at 10:15 am at JR Nara station (just outside of central exit) . Your guide will have a white flag bearing the name "NARA WALK".

Q:

I'm visiting Nara in January. Is there any chance I can join daily walks in Nara Park?

A:

Our Nara Park Classic Tour and The Great Buddha Tour do not run everyday-base between Dec.21 and Feb.28. Don't be disappointed, though. We will still operate the tour on request base! Please make a reservation from our reservation form with a note that you would like to join our daily tours.

Q:

Is lunch included in your daily tours?

A:

Lunch is not included in the tour, but your guide can recommend good authentic restaurants that suit your budget.

Q:

Can I always see deer during your daily tours?

A:

Definitely. There are 1000 plus wild deer in Nara Park. You can feed them with deer crackers sold at the stands in the park.

Other Special Tours Questions

Q:

I have limited time in Nara and cannot spend all day.

A:

The Great Buddha Tour duration is about 2 hours and tour fee is 1500 yen per person (entrance fee to the Great Buddha's Hall - 500 yen not included). Half-day morning or afternoon tours to places other than Nara Park are also available upon request. Please click here for details of those optional tours.

Q:

I reserved Horyuji afternoon tour. Is it possible to join your daily walks in the morning on the same day?

A:

In that case, we recommend that you take our "Todaiji and Horyuji one-day tour" instead. You will still get to see Great Buddha and other major spots in Nara park in the morning, and enjoy Horyuji in the afternoon.
