- From Beth (joined Tipsy Afternoon Old Town Stroll on Dec 29, 2011)

We had a great time with Daisy on our Old Town Stroll. Our trip to Nara was over the holiday season and may things were closed, but Daisy still gave us a great tour. We tasted sake, saw shrines and had a personal shopping guide for kimonos! We highly recommend the Daisy as a guide and booking a trip with the Nara Walk - a great way to see and learn about Nara!

- From Joan Gorman (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 9, 2011)

Midori was a FANTASTIC guide -- professional and extremely knowledgeable with outstanding English and the ability to answer any question I could ask. In addition, she was warm and personable and full of anecdotes and information that you won't find in a book. I highly recommend Narawalk and, especially, Midori.

-From Laura Caplan (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Oct 28, 2011)

(I'm not sure of the exact date of our tour.) We took the classic tour and had a really wonderful experience with Midori. She went out of her way to show us and tell us about all kinds of things we would not have discovered without her. She really customized it to what we were interested in. Thank you Midori!

-From Janet (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on September, 2011)

My daughter Holly and I enjoyed this tour better than any other during our trip to Japan. Mayumi was the perfect guide. She was very knowledgeable, informative, had a great personality and we had a good laugh! I would recommend this tour and Mayumi to anyone considering a trip to Nara.

-From Michele Anello (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on August 13, 2011)

Today morning i had a great tour of Nara with Midori Fujimura.
Her tour with perfect, she told me about the history of Nara and some nice legends, and she gave me a lot of advices on where to go and what to see in Japan.
The tour was about 3 hours and half, in which i saw the most important things of the city. Midori Fujimura was very friendly and kind, she even took on the road for the station when i had to go back.

Thanks again for everything... take care)) Ciao

- From Kathryn (joined The Great Buddha Tour on Sep 13,2011)

I took the Great Buddha Tour with my parents, and all three of us were blown away with how informative and friendly Yoko was. The tour was well-paced, interesting and educational. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a taste of traditional Nara culture.

- From Ellen (joined The Great Buddha Tour on Jun 28,2011)

Thanks to Kay our visit to Nara was wonderful. Kay was informative, knowledgeable, and flexible too. She was so gracious accommodating us and our children on a very hot day. We were able to see some things we never would have known about without her. We highly recommend Narawalk!

-From Bernard & roc (joined daily Nara Park Classic Tour on Jul 18,2011)

Mayumi was a great guide. We would never have enjoyed nara and its sites in such an informative way.. Soft spoken, very knowledgeable, mayumi rapidly assessed us and customiized her tour accordingly. Her english is impeccable, her knowledge of the sites was more than satisfactory. A real pearl

- From Matthew (joined daily Nara Park Classic Tour on Jul 10,2011)

Hey Mayumi, We want to say thanks for your great, caring and professional attitude during the trip. Without you, we won’t know the customs and traditions of religions in Japan. Without you, we won’t know the visited sites well especially the bullet holes on the pillars at the Temple and the Japanese Opera. It’s a really nice trip and you’re the nicest guide that we have ever met. Without joining the trip, I believe we won’t get that much information on the history of Japan, living of Japanese and the something, which is beyond the books. Thanks for your explanations at every sight and we really learnt a lot. We were impressed by your tender loving care especially when it was hot during the trip. We are looking forward to travelling to Japan in the future and yeah! Thanks very much for every arrangement =)

-From Elizabeth and Jacques from Australia (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on June 16, 2011)

Hi Mayumi

Jacques and I want to say thank you for a lovely, informative afternoon in Nara. We had an absolutely wonderful time and found Nara to be one of the highlights of our Japan trip. Thank you for making it so interesting.

Everyone thinks the pictures of the girl climbing through the "Buddha nostril" is very funny. Thanks for explaining that.

We are very much looking forward to another trip to Japan some time in the future. We just don't know when that will be.

Thank you again.

Elizabeth & Jacques Sauterel

-From Sachi and Nick (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on April 4, 2011)

Hello!
My boyfriend and I took a Nara Walk Tour on the 4th of April with Makiko Shigetani. The tour was introduced as a 3 and a half hour walking tour to 3 famous sites of Nara. The tour started with a walk around the village where we stopped here and there looking at mochi being pounded, which we were very lucky to see, and a traditional wedding which we were allowed to take photos of. The tour to us, was unforgettable. We learned a lot and Makiko was so patient and willing to help us. Because we did dawdle and were fortunate enough to see the wedding photos being taken and the mochi being pounded we took a little longer than the standard tour. Makiko did not hurry us at all and we really felt as if it was her pleasure that we were seeing this part of Japan. She is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide and we could tell was very passionate about her job - such a joy to be around. We will recommend this tour to anyone that is traveling to Nara as well as Makiko. Makiko really did make the tour a highlight for us.

Thank you again Makiko!

Take care!!
Sachi and Nick

-From Matilde Cozzolino (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Mar 10, 2011)

We really appreciated the professionality of the guide and her kindness, she took care of us for the whole tour telling us lots of information regarding the historical backgrouns and the dailylife of japanese people..Thanks a lot and see u soon in Nara;-)ganbatte ne!

-From Len Oakes (joined Great Buddha Tour on Mar 8,2011)

Yoko was a wonderful and informative guide. I thoroughly recommend her.

- From Charlie Kirk (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Feb 1, 2011)

We did three different tours this year while holidaying in Japan... Kay's walking tour was by the far the most personal, informative and entertaining. Without a crowd of people, Kay asked us very early if we had any specific interests that we wanted for the tour - and adjusted it to cater for that.... and she spoke very clear English (I have no Japanese language skill at all).
Kay even organised us to start the walk early so we could see a special annual event with the winter deer feeding - was really special and her extra effort made the tour very unique and rewarding. I will highly recommend Narawalk tours to everyone I know.

- From Eric Hamlin (joined Afternoon Old Town Stroll Tour on Dec 23, 2010)

We had a great time on our tour of Naramachi this afternoon. Benny was a very informative tour guide and taught us all about the area. He was also able to answer many questions we had about Japan, as this is our first time visiting the country. Nara was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we hope to visit again some day.

Thank you,
Eric Hamlin

- From Tom Leck (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Dec 6, 2010)

We were given a great tour of Nara and the temples within walking distance by Reiko-san. She was very accommodating to our interests, and quite knowledgable and an interesting tour guide. We would recommend her highly. We speak no Japanese, but Reiko's English was excellent.

- From Kaila

I've been living in Japan for a year now, and all of my friends have already made their way to Nara. Since I was the last one, I figured I'd take the Labor Thanksgiving holiday to explore Nara for and by myself. I did some research and figured out which places I wanted to go during my day. As soon as I paid for my ticket at Nara station, I was approached by Midori, who showed me a flier explaining the Nara Walk tours, with the Standard Walk including many of the sights that I wanted to see.

Midori was an amazing guide, with knowledge of many aspects of not just Nara's but also Japanese culture and history. I thoroughly enjoyed the time, and it was well worth the fee. If I would have gone on my own, there are so many things I would have missed, not knowing their significance or existence in general.

I definitely recommend Nara Walk tours.

- From Carol & Martin (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 7, 2010)

Midori was very personable, considerate and wanted to make sure we learned what was interesting to us. She asked what we knew and what we wanted to see. Our 3.5 hour tour was very informative and interesting at our pace.

- From a group from Estonia (joined Private Tour in Nara and Kyoto on Oct 31, Nov 4 and 5, 2010)

We had the great private tours in Nara and Kyoto.
Our group of 15 people from Estonia was very lucky to find Kenichi as a whole day tour guide, whose excellent command of English and perfect knowledge of history of Japan made our tours to Nara and Kyoto most memorable. He had planned our tours perfectly and we really enjoyed his stories about the places he took us too. The weather was not on our side in Nara and it started to rain in the early afternoon but despite the rainy weather and our soaked feet Ken made our day shine with his knowledge, flexibilty, the candies he gave us and his good humour :). We will definitely recommend the walking private tours with Ken and Nara walks for smaller English speeking groups.

- From Stormwolf (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 2, 2010)

The walk was awesome! Our guide Keiko was lovely and very informative. I would definately recommend these walks to any visitor to Nara.

- From Tony from Australia(joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 2, 2010)
This is an excerpt from his letter.

Hi there,
While holidaying in Nara my daughter, her boyfriend and I chose to do the daily Nara park standard tour on Tuesday Nov 2. The weather on Tuesday was beautiful, a good day for a walk in the park. ...

We went to the JR Nara station and it was there that we met our guide for the walk Kay. ...

As we proceeded on our walk Kay explained to us about the various various pagodas, temples and shrines that we visited on the walk. I found Kay to be very informative and knowledgeable and prepared to answer any questions we put to her. ...

I enjoyed my walk in the park with my daughter, her boyfriend and Kay and I am pleased that I had the opportunity to do the walk with Kay as our guide. ...

If I have the opportunity I would be happy to recommend this tour to any of my friends who may visit Nara.

Best wishes Tony
from Australia.

- From Jac (joined The Great Buddha Tour Tour on Oct 27, 2010)

Thank you Daisy for the walk around Nara today despite the chilly weather! The information about Nara, Kofukuji temple and Todaiji temple were very useful in understanding the places I was visiting for the first time. The earthquake simulator experience was memorable too. I will recommend this walking tour to my friends!

- From Scott DeSimone (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Oct 19, 2010)

I really loved this tour, Yoko was very knowledgable, spoke excellent English, and made sure that we hit all the major spots in Nara and included the history of each place. We had great conversations, and she even helped me pick out souvenirs at the local shops afterwards! I would highly recommend this tour and Yoko to anyone visiting Nara for the first time.

- From Marc Verachtert from Belgium (joined Half-day Private Tour in Nara on Oct 19, 2010)

Visiting the Heijo Palace site, I experienced the ‘grandeur’ of the Japanese history at his best. Even with only two building ?the Southgate Suzaku-mon and the governmental building Daigoku-den- really rebuild, but with the museums who are showing what is still hidden under the soil and the information given by Kenichi Adachi, our guide from Narawalk, the site came a live for me and let me understand much better other places of (architectural) interest in Nara, Kyoto and other places much more.

Not as impressive in scale, but historically as important, is the restored Eastern Palace Garden Toin-Teien garden. This is the place where Japanese garden culture started. Only this spot on his own is already worth seeing for everyone who is, just like me, interested in the history and the concept of Japanese gardens.

Whenever I come again to Japan, I will visit this place again.

- From Alice & Russ (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Oct 14, 2010)

This was the best way we could have experienced Nara. Our guide Kay was fantastic; she really enriched the sites we were seeing with her knowledge and experience. We peppered her with a wide variety of questions on Nara, Japanese history, religion and modern culture, all of which she answered - or sought an answer from other locals. We have been on many walking tours in many countries, and this was certainly one of the best. We highly recommend this tour.

- From Lindsay (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Aug 31, 2010)

I would highly recommend the Nara Walk with Kay. She was able to give us a great tour, explain a lot about Japanese culture, and take pictures of me and my friend. We learned a lot with her that we would not have learned otherwise. She was also able to direct us to a fantastic restaurant afterwards.

- From Delmee (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Oct 12, 2010)

Terrific tour! Keiku did an excellent job. Because we were only 2 that day she tailored the walk to our needs. We learned so many little things that you don`t read in guide books but that make you appreciate what you see even more. This walk was definitely worth every yen we paid for it!

Thank you for this great day.

- From Yuri Khramov (joined The Great Buddha Tour Tour on Sept 27, 2010)

In fact, it was absolutely fantastic tour! I have never seen a better tour in Japan. Shigetani-san was very knowledgeable, very professional, and ready to accommodate my situation - I had less than 2 hours. What I saw in that short time was unforgettable. Many kudos to your agency and to Shigetani-san.

- From Friederike and Cornelius (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Sept 25, 2010)

Our guide Reiko gave us a great tour through beautiful Nara, from Kasuga shrine via Todaiji and the earthquake centre to Kofukuji temple. All along she was very thoughtful, knowledgable, and patient, and through her easy-going and cordial way she made us feel very welcome. Thank you, Reiko, for this fantastic experience!

- From Ashley Cathey (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Sept 10, 2010)

BEST time ever. Our guide answered all of my questions and took us all over Nara. She even took us to check out the earthquake chair so we could feel what it would be like to be in an earthquake while inside of a pagoda. Sachiko was very helpful and polite and made me feel like she cared a lot for our experience. I hope to return to those deer very soon!

- From Leah (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Dec 13, 2009)

This was probably one of the best experiences I've had in a walking tour (and I've been to many in Europe and US). Our guide was fluent in English and we had no problem understanding her, on top of that she was very knowledgeable and you can really tell she enjoys taking people around Nara and showing the sites. The tour felt very personal and like it was our tour and not just being in one. So belated as it is, thank you to our wonderful tour guide, she really made us enjoy and appreciate Nara a lot more than we would've just walking around by ourselves.

- From Chris & Christine from Australia (joined The Great Buddha Tour Tour on Sept 15, 2010)

For aq couple in their late fifty's, the walk was very comfortable and at our pace. Daisy showed us all the sights that we wanted to see plus more, including the earthquake experience. However, you should be aware that persons over 100 kgs cannot go on the simulator - lucky I am 99 kgs. Daisy even took us shopping much to the delight of my wife - thank you for a wonderful Nara experience - Daisy you are a champion.

- From Cheryl Hadley (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Sept 10, 2010)

My niece and I learned much more than last year when I took a large bus tour. We asked lots of questions about things we had seen, we were able to really understand the sights and the history. Our guide was excellent, very patient when we side tracked to see and feed deer. Wonderful experience for the price, made our day!

- From Matt Slotten (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Sept 7, 2010)

The Nara walk was one of the best investments we could have made on our trip. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable, kind, and thoughtful and our experience in Nara was much more enriching and educational as a result. Mayumi spoke and understood English very well was able to answer almost all of our questions. I highly recommend taking the Nara walk, it is a great value and an experience you will surely remember!

- From Eva from Spain (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Sept 2, 2010)

The tour with Nara Walk was not planned, they got us in the station and it was one of the best decisions we took during our time in Japan. Ken, who was our guide is a lovely person and he knows so much about Japanese history, customs, culture, that will surprise the most curious person as he has an answer for everything. The time we spend doing the tour was enriching and enjoyable, definitely one of the highs of our trip.

Best way to visit Nara.

- From Sonja Bethune (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Aug 31, 2010)

Yoko was our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing. This was by far the best experience my husband and I have had in Japan. We feel our vacation is complete although we have 5 days left in Japan. We loved the deer and the shrines, of course. Yoko was very knowledgeable about each destination. I learned so much. I would definitely come back to Nara. Thank you Yoko for everything.

- From Martin (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Aug 26, 2010)

Thanks for the nice tour of Nara with lots of information and plesant company.

- From Phil (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Aug 21, 2010)

I ran into Mayumi at the JR station. I was planning on just walking around the park on my own and following a small map I had. I'm so glad she found me because I learned SOOOOO much history about the Japanese and the structures in the park. Her tour made my entire trip to Western Japan worth it. She also came prepared w/ fans and ice and had a well planned route so there were places to rest in between locations(w/ great views). If you go on a hot day like ours, it's a perfect selection of places to visit in Nara park.

- From Thomas Wessels from Germany (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on July 20, 2010)

I am from Germany. When I came to Nara I expected to find everything by myself. But it was good that Keiko asked me to make a guided tour. It was intensive walking together 3,5 Hours one tourist and one Guide. I have learned a lot about History and Religion in Japan.
Thanks very Much

- From Vaishali (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on June 26, 2010)

Hello Everyone!
I went with my 2 friends on the half day Nara tour. It was more than worth it and I was shocked at the tour fee. I think its very reasonable. We went to about 5 sites including daibutsu in Toda-ji and of course saw deer at the park and we went to the secret spot as well. Ken was a very nice person and it was obvious. He is more than knowledgable and very patient while we took pictures and asked a bunch of questions. Had a mix of interesting facts and a good sense of humor. Introduced us to great chocolate and showed us where to buy it and showed my friends where to get burgers. I'm vegetarian and he helped me find a place to eat and it was so good. Also, he helped my friends order at the burger place. I loved Nara and it was beyond beautiful. Would love to do full day tours next time without a doubt! One day I really got to enjoy.

Thanks Ken and sorry that I didn't believe you that the deer really do bow down until I saw it myself! =) Amazing!

- From Kevin and Ingrid (joined Daily Standard & Afternoon Old Town Stroll Tour on June 22, 2010)

The Afternoon Old Town Stroll is an excellent way to complement the daily standard walk. It was such a delightful experience and definitely the highlight of our trip to Nara.
With the dynamic Ken, who knows the place like the back of his hand, we enjoyed the opportunity to wander around and to immerse ourselves in the old town's culture and customs - from the sake-tasting tour to the visit of old traditional japanese houses.

Definitely worth it!

- From James Kempsell (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on July 27, 2010)

I loved the trip and it has been the highlight of my trip in Japan so far. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered my full barrage of questions. I liked the path we took to all the famous spots, as well as some less known places on the way (such as the Geiko district and the Earthquake demonstration). Thanks for taking pictures for me!

- From Michele, Chiara & Aurora (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on July 22, 2010)

We were completely satisfied by our tour and really impressed by the beauty of Nara's parks and temples. Our guide, Reiko-san, was very knowledgeable and kind. She also was very patient and kind with our 3 years old daughter, Aurora, who liked her very much!

- From Zhifa (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on June 25, 2010)

- From Elise (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on June 16, 2010)

Kay was an amazing tour guide! She showed us Nara and everything it had to offer. By the end of the 4 hours there was nothing in Nara that we had not seen. Her stories about the history were a highlight of the tour and our trip to Japan. This tour should not be missed!

- From Cathy (joined The Great Buddha Tour Tour on June 3, 2010)

My daughter and I had planned to see Nara that afternoon with a map and a short page in a travel book as our guide. What luck to find Kay with her Narawalk flag when we arrived at the JR station. We had a wonderful afternoon with Kay.She was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about Nara's history! It was a joy to learn from her, talk with her, and to ask plenty of questions. It truly was a delight to have spent our time in Nara with Kay! Thank you for a great afternoon.

- From Adrien from France (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on May 12, 2010)

It was an amazing experience. We saw Nara town, the temples and shrines in a way we could not have done otherwise. The guide was not only experienced and knowledgeable but also friendly and made sure we got most of it out of the limited time we had. I dare you to find the god tree without a narawalk guide !

- From Lim (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on May 8, 2010)

It was a splendid day in Nara all thanks to Midori who brought us to the back-alley and the awe- inspiring parks. It was certainly exemplary when she led us to the Nara Hotel at the end of the tour which is beyond her scope of duty, truly setting a benchmark for the service industry.

- From Nicole from Washington D.C. (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on May 3, 2010)

Back in Washington, DC now and still thinking about the day my friend and I spent touring through Nara with Midori - truly one of the best days of the 2 weeks I spent in Japan! Midori was extremely informative about the history of Nara and walked with us to its many highlights She also answered a lot of questions we had about life in Japan in general. Thanks so much for an incredible day and memories that will last a lifetime!

- From Patric (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on April 21, 2010)

Midori is an excellent guide with a friendly personable manner. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Nara, including the deer the temples etc. I enjoyed the tour very much, and recommend her as your guide should you came to Nara....

- From Irina (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 17, 2010)

We had a wonderful experience in Nara with Ken as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, interesting, passionate about Japanese history, nature, customs and religion, and very generous with his time. He showed us things and places which we would not be able to see by ourselves, because you cannot read about them in the tourists books. Ken went above and beyond his normal guide's duties, and showed us different Japanese food, specialties and also made recommendations for a nice dinner after the tour. We had a great day in Nara, thanks to Ken and Nara Walk. I would highly recommend this tour to every English- speaking person arriving to Nara by train. Thank you Ken for a wonderful experience and time you shared with four of us.

- From Luk from Belgium (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 14, 2010)

It was a rainy day but Yoko from Narawalk managed to make this an unforgettable day. Her English was one of the best I heard in Japan during my stay. Besides that she was friendly and had many interesting stories to tell. Overall extremely pleased by the service from Narawalk. Have fun in Japan !

- From Helena from Brazil (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 13, 2010)

I had a very pleasent experience in being guided by Kay; actually I got in Nara JR station with no plan (I did'nt even had a map!) and it was like Kay felt from heaven to guide me. She took me into main spots; she had incentived me to go through the hole in the pillar! I highly recomend this tour for the attentiveness and cultural background of the guide.

- From Yetkin & Nurdan from Turkey (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 10, 2010)

We had a very pleasant 3.5 hours of walk with Mayumi. Nara is one of the must see sites in Japan - most beautiful temples and shrines. Especially in cherry-blossom time, it has wonderful views. Thanks you Mayumi and Narawalk.

- From Daniel (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 8, 2010)

- From Lorelei (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 3, 2010)

Such a wonderful day with an interesting and informative guide speaking excellent English, who was pleasant, friendly and who gave us extra time and assistance. A real highlight of our tour in Japan. I would highly recommend Nara Walks and Ken to all visitors to Nara.

- From Chris from Australia (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 3, 2010)

We had the most amazing tour with our guide, Ken. As there were only the two of us, he took us to places off the beaten track and he was so informative and interesting. He was extremely generous with his time, giving us more than the allocated 3 hours. We learn so much from him about the history of Nara and about Buddhism and Shintoism. Thanks so much for such a great day. We will definitely recommend Ken and NaraWalk to our friends.

- From Alex from Australia (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Mar 20, 2010)

I just wanted to say that I had a great day and am so glad I did the walking tour. Originally I was just going to get a map from the station and walk around by myself but luckily I found Ken at the station waiting with his flag for people to join the tour. He knew so much about the places he showed me as well as Japanese history and his English was perfect. It made my visit at Nara much more enjoyable because I was able to understand more about the places I was shown. I will definitely recommend the walking tour to friends and family. Thanks Ken!

- From Megan, Tony and Sophie from Australia (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Mar 12, 2010)

My tour today with Ken was delightful. - From Zafer from Turkey (joined Horyuji/Todaiji One-Day Tour on Jan 17, 2010)

Tour to Nara was beyond my expectations. I have visited so many sights in Japan but Nara and especially Horyuji area was very interesting. I was also very lucky that I was only the traveller for the day tour. I will thank a lot to my guide that he showed me interesting places and explained all details which are not possible to find in any guide book or other documents. I would highly recommend to go for a one day tour because Horyuji in not a place you should miss. Thanks again to Ken and the Narawalk Team.

- From Michael from Australia (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Dec 18, 2009)

The tour with Ken(ichi) was fantastic and I can warmly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Japan. Not only will you see all the important buildings and monuments as well as the beautiful nature and of course a lot of deer but you will get an introduction into the Japanese culture which would require you to read dozens of books, and that in only 4 hours!!! Definitely the best guided tour I ever shared!

- From Andrew (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 14, 2009)

Mayumi was an excellent guide, and her English is superb! I was taking my parents to Nara for their first visit to Japan. I had been to the city before, researched it, and studied much Japanese history, which impressed Mayumi, but she still took us to sites I didn't know about, and taught me facts not covered in my history books or tour guides, it was fantastic and well worth it. Afterward, she was kind enough to recommend a restaurant area for our lunch. We had a wonderful time!

- From Kazuko and Chris from Australia (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 1, 2009)

I just wanted to write and say thank you for the tour of Nara you gave us. We all had a great time and everybody was impressed by your knowledge, and enjoyed the fun presentation.

- From Ryan from Singapore (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Nov 23, 2009)

We're from Singapore and Mayumi gave us a great tour in Nara, exposing us to the rich cultural history of Todaiji and many other temples and shrines in Nara. She was friendly and polite and spoke good english. Her company made my experience in Nara an unforgettable one. Thanks Mayumi!

- From Simone from Italy (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Oct 15, 2009)

When I went to Nara with my wife, I hoped to find a japanese guide, then we met Kenichi. He showed us the city: themples, shrines, deers. It was a fantastic experience, Kenichi spoke a very good english, so it was easy to comunicate, he was very kind with us, and he answered all of our questions. I have to say that we would have never visited Nara in this way, without his help, so we are really satisfied of that tour. We would suggest this tour to our friends, thank you!

- From Yu Deng (joined Nara Park Classic Tour on Apr 12, 2009)

I visited Nara while in exchange in Japan, and stumbled upon this tour at the JR Station. Because I was interested in knowing more about this ancient capital, I decided to join the tour, and it was a really good choice! My guide was very friendly, and she explained and told us interesting backgrounds and stories of the places we have visited. Choosing this tour has created many fond memories for me, and it was a truly memorable experience.

Konnichiwa Reiko,

I am now back in London and amazed my 25-year old son with the Nara pickles.
I keep thinking of the lovely day we spent together in Nara. I hope that all is well.
I posted a message about Nara Walk on the "readers's tips" webpage of The Guardian,a major UK newspaper:

On a Sunday morning in September, I joined the walking tour with a friend from the U.S.  Business trips aside, it was my first visit to Nara since the high school trip some 40 years ago!
And what a great time my friend from America and I had, learning a lot about the history and culture of this beautiful ancient capital of my country.
Having stayed in Kyoto for the previous two days, my American friend really appreciated the distinctly serene elegance of the city.  Such an appreciation would not have been possible without the to-the-point and friendly explanations by our chraming guide.
Thank you very much, Sumi-san!

I highly recommend the daily guided walk from NaraWalk. The pace was excellent and the guidevery knowledgeable and friendly. In addition to the historicsites, she showed us shopping areas for a wide range of items, including the famous Nara pickles. Nara is a short journey by train from Kyoto or Osaka and the website provides a link to an English-language route planner.
