Horyuji Temple is well-known for its world’s oldest wooden structure surviving over 1300 years. The temple was designated as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO for the first time in Japan together with Himeji Castle. It is amazing to see wooden buildings still in existance and in such amazing condition after more than a thousand years.
